Tragedy struck in Elfrida, AZ, as a 13-year-old lost her life in a devastating UTV accident on a private property along N Hawk Eye Rd this past Saturday, as reported by 12 News.

The incident unfolded when two young girls, aged 13 and 14, were joyriding on a side-by-side UTV, their adventure turning fatal around 5:30 p.m.

The crash resulted in the tragic death of the 13-year-old, while emergency responders swiftly airlifted the 14-year-old to a nearby hospital, her condition listed as critical.

Shockingly, neither of the girls had donned helmets or seatbelts, exacerbating the severity of the outcome.

As the community reels from the loss and prays for the recovery of the surviving teenager, the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office has commenced a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
