Fatal Two Vehicle Collision Near Tatum Ridge in Phoenix

PHOENIX, AZ

A tragic two-vehicle collision on Wednesday afternoon, May 29, claimed the life of an 87-year-old woman in northeast Phoenix, as reported by KTAR News 92.3 FM.

The incident occurred at the intersection of Jomax Road and Tatum Boulevard, within the Tatum Ridge neighborhood. Phoenix Police responded to the scene shortly before 1:00 p.m.

Authorities stated that the elderly woman was a passenger in a vehicle traveling northbound on Tatum Boulevard.

The vehicle was attempting to make a left turn onto Jomax Road when it collided with a southbound vehicle on Tatum Boulevard. Tatum and Jomax road have many dangerous intersections when you drive on either road.

Emergency responders swiftly transported the 87-year-old woman to a local hospital. Despite their efforts, she succumbed to her injuries.

Another individual, identified only as a man, was also taken to a nearby hospital. He was reported to be in stable condition. It remains unclear whether he was the driver of the first vehicle or a passenger in the second vehicle.

As of now, no charges or citations have been issued in connection with the accident.
