In Peoria, Arizona, as reported by AZ Family, a pedestrian was tragically hit and fatally injured by a driver at the intersection of W Olive Ave and N 78th Ave on Thursday night.

The incident occurred at approximately 11 p.m. when the driver, traveling west on W Olive Ave, collided with the victim.

Despite efforts by rescue teams, the victim was declared deceased at the scene.

Initial assessments suggest that speed and impairment might have contributed to the accident.

The Peoria Police Department has taken over the investigation of this unfortunate incident.
