Woman Killed By Semi-Truck Around 2am in Phoenix
PHOENIX AZ —
A tragic accident in west Phoenix resulted in the death of a woman who was struck by a semi-truck late last night. The incident occurred around 2 a.m. at the intersection of 63rd Avenue and Buckeye Road.
Buckeye Road has many dangerous intersections in Arizona.
Phoenix police identified the victim as 71-year-old Biyan Wu. According to authorities, Wu was pushing a shopping cart along the edge of Buckeye Road when she was hit by the semi-truck. It was noted that she was not crossing in a marked crosswalk at the time of the accident.
Emergency crews arrived swiftly and found Wu critically injured. Despite their efforts to save her, she succumbed to her injuries at the scene.
The driver of the semi-truck stopped immediately following the crash and is fully cooperating with the police investigation. Authorities have indicated that neither speed nor impairment appears to be factors in the accident.
It is well known that semi-trucks are dangerous on the roads, but reporting on another tragic accident is hard.
