Driver Kills a Man Riding Motorized Scooter Near Liberty Park

PHOENIX, AZ –

In a tragic incident on Friday evening, a man riding a motorized scooter was fatally struck by a vehicle near the intersection of North 12th Avenue and West Washington Street, as reported by AZFamily.

The victim, identified as 60-year-old Edwin Rodriguez, was traveling along Washington Street when the accident occurred.

Around 8:20 p.m., a driver heading westbound collided with Rodriguez, causing severe injuries.

Emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene and transported Rodriguez to a nearby hospital. Despite their efforts, he was pronounced dead upon arrival.

The driver involved in the incident remained at the location and fully cooperated with law enforcement officials during their investigation.
